Community guidelines

The Wilmy Run Crew is a free community for adult runners in the Wilmington area. Joining buddy or pacer matching means agreeing to these guidelines.

Your first two runs with any new buddy or pacer happen at a listed run club session. Custom times and places unlock only after two run-club meetups you both confirm with “We ran”.

Who can match

  • Adults 18+ only, signed in with Google. Phone verification may be required later.
  • One account per person, with your real first name.
  • Read the safety tips before your first match.

Meeting up

  • Your first two runs with each new buddy or pacer must be at a listed run club session. Wilmy only lets you plan those from the run club schedule.
  • After two run-club meetups that you both confirm with “We ran”, you can plan custom times and public places. Keep them public.
  • Show up, or cancel in the app as early as you can.

Respect

  • No harassment, unwanted romantic or sexual advances, hate, threats or pressure to share contact details or locations.
  • No selling, recruiting or spam.
  • Respect “no”. Declining, cancelling or blocking needs no explanation.
  • Don't share anyone else's details or screenshots of their messages without permission.

Privacy

  • Profiles show first name + last initial, pace, distances and general area only. Never ask for someone's address.
  • Contact details are shared only when each person opts in.
  • Women-only and same-gender matching are available in your matching profile.

Pacers

  • Pacers are volunteers, not coaches or medical professionals.
  • The “Trusted pacer” badge is granted by a moderator and can be removed.

Blocks & reports

  • Block hides you from each other instantly.
  • Report anything unsafe. The reported account is paused right away and hidden until a moderator reviews it. Moderators may dismiss the report, keep the account paused, or freeze it.
  • False or malicious reports can lead to your own account being frozen.
  • In an emergency, call 911.

Miles & prizes

  • Only real Strava runs count; no manual entries. Unusual runs are held for review.
  • One claim per prize, a monthly limit, and rewards expire 30 days after you claim them. Codes rotate every 60 seconds and work once.
  • Gaming the system (fake runs, shared accounts, reselling prizes) gets your account frozen.
  • Every prize: Local Wilmington residents only. Driver's license or proof of address required to redeem.
